The Camp Store presents live music from “Bobby Compton”
March 2 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Son of the South, Bobby Compton comes from a place known to produce hit makers and generations of long lasting legends. Down a red dirt road, along the banks of the Broad River, with barely one red-light, his hometown “is” a country song. Comer is a small rural farming community located at the far northern reaches of
Athens Georgia, home of the University of Georgia.
Bobby Compton began his career playing and singing in small town bars around the Athens, GA area in the early 2,000’s. Branching out to a larger audience would soon become the next goal of his career. With sights set, he then moved to the venues surrounding the college towns in the Southeast.
Compton’s early success would also include winning multiple singing competitions throughout the state of Georgia. Of particular interest were “University Idol” in Athens (UGA), and “Redneck Idol” hosted at the annual Summer Redneck Games in Dublin.
Although Compton spends most of his time focused on his career and travelling with the band, he always finds time to give back. The entertainer participates in Relay For Life events and hosts his annual “Givin Out Loud” Toy Drive. Through these efforts Compton has been able to raise awareness, raise needed funding, and provide Christmas for many less-fortunate children in his home community.
Today the artist can be found performing at venues such as Wild Bill’s Atlanta, The Georgia Theatre in Athens, Windjammer in Charleston SC, and most notably the Hard Rock Café in Nashville during CMA Fest.
For the first half of 2014 Bobby Compton spent considerable time in the Music City collaborating with Nashville’s top songwriters. During this period he recorded his current self-titled EP produced by Phil O’Donnell. The CD was released in October 2014 at the world famous 40 Watt Club in Athens, and the first single release “Front Seat DJ” has enjoyed regular airplay around Atlanta on 94.9 “The Bull” FM, and 106.1 WNGC FM.
Besides his current body of work, Bobby has also released two full length albums entitled “Words Left Unspoken” and “Country Livin’”. All of his works can be found on Itunes, Amazon, Spotify, Reverbnation, and BobbyCompton.com.
